For heartburn sufferers, eating the wrong foods can dredge up serious heartburn pain. Certain foods and beverages may irritate the lining of the esophagus or affect the flow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus.

But just because you have heartburn doesn't mean that you have to cheat yourself out of great-tasting, satisfying meals. With simple changes in ingredients and cooking techniques, you can create palate-pleasing meals that are less likely to cause heartburn.

Try incorporating tips from Pat Baird, nutrition consultant and National Heartburn Alliance Board member. Simply click on one of the various Food for Thought sections listed to the left for heartburn friendly cooking and dining information.
